So much confusion with game engines 🤔 and modern game engines lag a lot 😐

Image
Hello this is just me moping over the fact that I cannot make 3d action games not because I don’t choose to but because I simply cannot since my system won’t run the game engines properly. Well, back to simple engines like Renpy. 😉 Check out my game studio website: http://redseed.cc Check out my personal blog: https://ayushraj.cc If you liked this then follow my blog please 🙂

When I have to decide what type of game to make this time

Image
In this video I am just telling you all the choices that I have when it comes to choosing a game genre. I have been making the 3D model of my game protagonist and I have finished making it. But, now I am trying to decide what type of game should I make. And of course I know that making 3D action games will be better for the popularity of the game but it will immensely difficult for me to make a 3D action game. Whereas it will be extremely easy for me to make a visual novel RPG/fighting SIM. I have been thinking about making a visual novel fighting SIM for a long time but I wasn’t able to find the 3D models to do so. Well, now I can. But now I am confused between game genre. The next choice which I am confused about is the choice of a 3D engine in case I will decide to make a 3D action game. The choice is between Unity, Unreal and Godot. All three of them have their advantages and disadvantages. Unity is bare bones and offers more control and its community is huge, Unreal...

Action brawler comedy anime Beelzebub review – No Spoilers ^_^

Image
Beelzebub is an action brawler anime developed by Pierrot+ studio. The manga was written by Ryūhei Tamura. The anime is about a first year high school student known as Oga Tatsumi. The high school he is enrolled in is an all delinquent high school and only delinquents and students with very less grades are enrolled here. So, there are often brawls in the high school (and even outside) among students and student groups so that one can show authority over the others. Naturally, seniors are considered to be physically stronger than juniors. But that was not the case with Oga. Even though he was a first year student he was incredibly strong and could defeat his seniors. But, not all seniors. Beelzebub anime poster And then down the road Oga gets in contact with a demon baby and his caretakers (a beautiful and authoritative woman and a giant gay man who was also a portal to the demon world). Then Oga is forced to stay with them and manage his daily lives with the demon kins. He...

Snow White with the Red Hair anime review – No Spoilers ^_^

Image
Snow White with the Red Hair is an anime series developed by Warner Bros., Hakusensha, Showgate, The Klockworx Co. Ltd., Hakuhodo DY Media Partners, Docomo Anime Store, BS Fuji and Bones as it says in Wikipedia. I really can’t believe that so many studios worked together to make the anime adaptation. I mean, it just looks like any other contemporary anime. It has great animation but nothing a single anime studio couldn’t have handled. The manga is written by Sorata Akizuki which is the original source of the series. So, I am going to tell you about the first part of the anime. I watched it out of curiosity because the poster looked like it was story rich and had great animation. Which it did. Snow White with the Red Hair anime poster If you want to enjoy a nice and relaxing story on a lazy holiday morning then go for it!! It is absolutely meant for this purpose and is a really relaxing experience. Although there are points ...

Why indie studios don’t make 3D action games | Limitations

Image
Many times I have to face this question, “Why don’t you make games like COD or Skyrim?” They sell so well and they are so well received by the public. Well, the answer to that question is that I (and my game studio) simply cannot afford to make a 3D action game like COD or Skyrim or Witcher. It takes a lot of time, money and effort to make these games and make them look good and make them sell. Indie studios (like my own) don’t take up the development of such games because they know that they won’t be able to do justice to the genre or maybe they won’t even be able to put it together in the first place. This is very important. New indie studios cannot immediately start developing 3D action games mainly because they don’t have the resources to do so (unless they are backed by a bigger company which is the case with Legend of Zelda: Breath of The Wild). Indie studios have to be creative and innovative if they want to stand out and differ...

Ease of delivery of video games | Players with data caps

Image
In this video I am telling you how we tackled the problem of reducing the size of our game so that even users who have very expensive data or who have data caps on their connection can download and enjoy it. The number of hours the player can enjoy the game for should be directly proportional to the size of the game. The players don’t know if you have used a really HD texture or lossless sound. They will only care about what they are looking at in their screens and how many hours they will be able to play the game for. When your game’s size is justified against the play time then it may result in more trust in your game and more sales. However, even if it does not increase sales we must always make sure that data caps are not stopping players from playing our game. You can make sure that your images are all optimized and sound files are compressed. When users are playing a game then they really don’t pay a lot of attention to the quality of the sound files as...

Separate sources for different types of devices | Porting a game has to be done by hand only

Image
In this video I am telling you that even though modern game engines can port the same code to different platforms you will still have to make separate copies and edit the code separately to make them work properly on different types of platforms. We also did this when we made our game. We wanted to port it to two platforms i.e. mobile and desktop and even though our engine could port the underlying game logic and mechanism properly it was facing trouble in properly porting the graphical elements and their alignments to different platforms. So we had to make two copies of the source code and edit them both to make them work properly on both the platforms. Make sure to do this step at the very end such that you don’t have to make any changes in your game itself.
